Appointment Policy

At Advanced PetCare of Oakland, we operate by appointment only, for the convenience of all of our patients and clients. Appointments allow us to devote the most time to the treatment of your pet. Our emergency cases will always receive top priority at our hospital as we are committed to seeing all sick patients on the day of your call. We make a sincere attempt to see each of our patients at their scheduled time and we hope that you will understand that sometimes this is not possible due to emergency situations that may arise.

If you need to cancel your appointment, we recommend giving at least 24 hours’ notice, if possible. This allows us to make appointments with other patients who are in need of care.

Patient Arrival Policy

When you arrive for your appointment, please come at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time so that we can get the information that we need without taking away from your visit with the veterinarian. Please also bring with you a driver’s license, a method of payment, any medication that your pet is currently taking including prescription and non-prescription supplements, and all medical records. You can also have your pet’s medical records sent to us from their former veterinarian.

For your convenience, we can also provide "admit" appointments. This means you can drop your pet off at your convenience and schedule to pick them up later. Meanwhile, our doctors will make time for your pet’s check-up between other appointments, or at a time specifically set aside for these kinds of appointments. You will be called after the examination so that the doctor can choose the best course of action for your pet. We do require all admitted patients to be up-to-date on their vaccinations.
