Maria Chase, CSR - Head Client Service Representative

Maria’s favorite pastime is a weekly “adventure day” she takes with her daughter and granddaughter: they get in the car and head out with no plans or destination in mind. It’s a great way to discover local parks, nature centers, restaurants, and whatever else they may come across! Maria has been a receptionist at Advanced PetCare of Oakland since 2013, but she has been in the veterinary field for over 6 years. She enjoys providing an exceptional experience for clients and their pets. She also enjoys working with our doctors and staff as they are a great group of hardworking, fun professionals! Maria’s love of pets follows her home where she has two Boxers named Rocky and Lola. She is also a mother of two, and she has a granddaughter who is four.

Shaina Osentoski, LVT

Shaina interned at a sea turtle and dolphin hospital in Florida before she joined our team in 2013. She loves working with different species of animals and believes that educating pet owners on how to keep their pet-children healthy and happy is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Her love for animals follow her home also where she has her own pets: two Jack Russells named Zoey and Cookie. One of the neatest things Shaina ever did was snorkel with the manatees in Clearwater, Florida!

Since she joined our team in 2013, Sarah has enjoyed this aspect of her job the most! She has two pets of her own: Max, a Dachshund; and Sampson, a DSH. When she isn’t working, Sarah loves being outdoors, whether she is biking, walking with Max, or enjoying snow sports.

Michele Norkus-Comby, LVT

Michele has been with our practice since November of 2016. She has an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology and General Studies, and she uses what she learned every day. She has many pets, including Twyla – a shepherd/beagle mix), Mr. Phillips – a Boston terrier, Peanut Crackerjack and Winter – DSHs, and Santos and Old Man Bill – quarter horses. In her free time, Michele enjoys playing soccer and horseback riding.

Kristine Lee, VA - Hospital Manager

Kristine, who has a Bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan, has been a part of the Advanced PetCare of Oakland team since 2012. She enjoys working with our team members and especially making them laugh with her sarcasm and direct sense of humor. When she isn’t working, she may be found running with her dogs (Casey MJ who is a Maltese mix and Lucy JJ who is a Sheltie mix), spending time with family (she has extended family all over the country) and her husband, and she also loves traveling. She enjoys going on adventures all around the world!

Amanda, who has 2 years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine before joining our team, is a 2013 graduate from Baker College in Clinton Township. She enjoys being a part of the Advanced Pet Care of Oakland team where everyone supports each other and works together like family. In addition to her veterinary education, Amanda also has studied psychology and is a certified health unit coordinator. Her love for animals follows her home where she has three pets: Kiki and Grace, who are cats, and Champ, who is a pitbull. When she isn’t working, Amanda enjoys crocheting, and she’s also learning to play the piano.

Liz Alred, VA

Liz is a Veterinary Assistant who has been with our practice since October 2016. She has a background in Zoo and Aquarium Science and Dog Grooming, and she loves to use her education at our practice every day. Liz is very close with her brother, David; and she has cat named Shadow, a ferret named Bambi, and two chinchillas named Baby Pie and Yoshi. When she’s not working, Liz loves hiking, kayaking, volunteering, watching scary movies, and playing videogames.

KC joined our team as a receptionist in 2016. She has a large, loving family that includes 2 sons, 1 daughter, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 13 nieces and nephews! She also shares her home with 4 fur babies: Chloe, a 15-year old cat, Maddie, a 9-year old Border collie mix, Baby, a 3-year old cat, and Larkin, a 1-year old Shar Pei mix. KC’s favorite part of working with us is our great staff, and getting to see all the wonderful pets that come through our doors. In her spare time, KC loves toiling in her garden, making crafts, watching her children play sports, and watching Redwings hockey, U of M hockey, and football.

Melissa Wagner, CSR

Melissa joined our team in the summer of 2017, and her excitement for pets is contagious! She has three cats named Hatchet, Charlie and Luna. Her favorite part about working at our clinic is getting to know our clients. Melissa truly has a passion for pets and people and she takes pride in recognizing families by their companion animals. If you catch Melissa at home, you’ll find her sipping tea and reading in a forest of house plants. She loves the country and in her spare time, she likes to garden and get her hands dirty in her barn. Come visit Melissa at Advanced Pet Care of Oakland for a warm hello and exceptional service.

Expo, House Cat

Expo is our seven-year-old cat who lives at Advanced PetCare of Oakland. He earned his name because we had him up for adoption at the Waterford Business Expo until Dr. Cornwall fell in love with him and decided to keep him! Expo’s favorite way to spend the day is lying around at the hospital and watching everyone else work.
